After an exceptional career as a Family Physician, Dr. Tracy Lappa-Walker has announced her decision to retire this year.
Dr. Lappa-Walker’s last day with Stonegate CHC will be July 9th, 2021.
Tracy has been practicing as a Family Physician for more than 25 years. Over the last 17 years she has practiced here at Stonegate Community Health Centre, following 8 years in the small community of Sutton Ontario, just north of Toronto.
Prior to Medical School and Residency, Tracy was an Occupational Therapist at the Toronto General Hospital, involved in interdisciplinary practice, teaching and finally specializing as a Hand Therapist on the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery service.
Tracy has always dedicated herself to providing the highest quality care to her patients and supporting the colleagues she has worked with. She is a skilled and compassionate physician who worked tirelessly to provide much needed health care to the Stonegate community.
Though she had planned to retire last year, the COVID-19 Pandemic disrupted all our lives, and Tracy decided it was important to remain with the Stonegate CHC team, until we could see better days ahead.
We will be hiring a new Family Physician, who will be able to assume care for all of Dr. Lappa-Walker’s patients. Should anyone decide to transfer their health care to a new medical practice, our staff can assist you with this process.
Tracy will be greatly missed by her patients, the Stonegate CHC clinical team, co-workers and health care providers in collaborative care. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
