Stonegate Community Association Board of Directors 2024-2025
ARMANDO D'ANDREA ‐ Armando is a lawyer with graduate degrees in journalism and criminal law. He currently practices administrative law and professional regulation. He also has experience in criminal defence, representing vulnerable individuals, and in written and oral advocacy. Armando feels that accessibility to healthcare is a foundational value, and that good personal health is the touchstone for a functional and engaged society. Armando has close professional and personal ties with Etobicoke and he looks forward to serving the Stonegate community.
LISA WISEMAN – Lisa has 20 years of community mental health experience. Knowledge about primary health, addictions, social determinants of health. Training and facilitating of various programs/topics (trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, etc). Professional experience developing curriculum and program standards (QI for programs/assessments), managing programs, and teams.
SAMIA AFZAL ‐ Samia is a local resident with a Doctorate in Immunology from the University of Toronto. She has advancing evidence-based practices at both Think Research Corporation and Niagara Region Public Health. Her health promotion work focused on sourcing reliable evidence to inform policy/programs in areas such as healthy child development, sexually transmitted infections, mental health, substance use, and healthy eating/physical activity. Samia also brings valuable non-profit sector experience, having collaborated to design and deliver leadership training for youth and young professionals. Beyond her professional pursuits, Samia enjoys embracing continuous learning and looks forward to leveraging her passion for public health and community well-being as a member of the e Board, contributing to the community’s future.
DELISA ABRAHAM (Vice Chair) – Delisa was raised in this community and is committed to nurturing, inspiring, encouraging and empowering our community now, and in the future. As a leadership coach, mentor and speaker she recognizes and understands why our community need leadership and community to thrive. Delisa earned a BA in Humanities (York University), a Post Grad Research Analyst (Humber College), Executive Leadership Certification - Women of Influence, and Entrepreneur Development Certification. She has also completed 14 years of Military Service and has experience as an Executive Administrator for various corporations.
JANE HUNG – Jane is a member of the Stonegate-Queensway community, a mother, and a first generation immigrant who understands the importance of personalized care and tailoring services to meet diverse family requirements. She has a financial background in corporate development and strategy and has worked on projects for various non-profits including supportive housing, long-term care, and grant foundations. Jane is committed to the community, having created groups to bring parents together to break isolation, and volunteered on the different boards from a music organization to a condo corporation. She looks forward to bringing her leadership experience and desire to contribute to the community to Stonegate CHC's board of directors.
DR. NINA KRYSHTALSKYJ – Dr Nina Kryshtalskyj in West Toronto and Etobicoke for most of her life. She completed her Medical Degree at the University of Toronto. She also did her Family Medicine Residency at St. Joseph's Health Centre and Toronto General Hospital. After graduating she taught family practice residents at TGH. She still enjoys mentoring young students in pursuing medicine as their career choice. She was on staff at Unity Health and UHN for many years. As a young family physician she started her solo practice in Bloor West Village where she looked after members of her community for over 35 years ,retiring in 2021. During her practice she looked after many patients that were immigrants and from lower socioeconomic groups dealing with not only their medical but emotional and social issues. She enjoyed getting to know many generations of families in her practice which gave her the most satisfaction. Dr Nina is looking forward to continuing to contribute to her community at Stonegate helping people thrive and succeed in their life.
LILLIAN MANEA ‐ Lived in the Stonegate area for the past eight years, but her family has been in the community over 20 years. She graduated from McMaster with a business degree and also has a Public Relations diploma from Humber College. A founding member of the Rainbow Songs Foundation, Lillian also chairs the Etobicoke Collegiate School Council, and has a long history of experience working in the non‐profit sector, including the Loran Scholars Foundation, the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), and the Income Security Advocacy Centre.
ELENA MIKHAYLOVA ‐ A finance leader with a degree in Management and Economics. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and currently works at Danone as a Finance Director of Sales. Elena self‐identifies as a "first wave immigrant" who moved to Canada 15 years ago and brings with her a diversity of skills and life experience to enrich the Stonegate Board. She moved into the Stonegate Community CHC neighbourhood approximately 10 years ago and is looking forward to being involved with the community.
ERIN FORDYCE (Board Liaison) ‐ Received her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queens University and her legal degree from Western University. She previously worked in private practice in the areas of Intellectual Property and Food and Drug Regulatory law. She currently works in‐house at GlaxoSmithKline as Legal Counsel. Erin resides in the Stonegate community with her husband and two young children. The Stonegate community has been so welcoming to Erin and her family. She looks forward to giving back through her involvement with Stonegate.
DR. COLIN MANG (Chair) ‐ Born and raised in Etobicoke. He completed a PhD in Economics at Lancaster University and is currently an economist at Wilfrid Laurier University. An active community volunteer, Colin has previously been a director of the Capitol Centre, a public performing and visual arts institution; a director of the Business Centre N‐PS, a small business accelerator; and a trustee of Lancaster University. He is currently the Chair of the Central Etobicoke Community Hub, a community led action committee working with the City of Toronto, not‐for‐profit organizations, and community residents to improve public facilities in Etobicoke.
JUDY GEARY ‐ Worked in a public sector agency serving injured and ill workers for over 30 years, in virtually every operational service area, most of that time at a senior level. She served on 2 occupational health and safety boards, 2 national institute boards, the WSIB Research and Advisory Council, a start up distance university board, and was on the inaugural board of the hoped for Berry Road Food Co‐ op. Most recently and currently, she is on the Board at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, where she sits on the Quality and Finance and Governance and Compensation committees. Judy also holds a Masters Degree in Adult Education.
ERIC JOSIPOVIC (Treasurer) ‐ A MBA from the University of Toronto and has been a CPA/CA since 1999. Previous volunteer experience includes membership on the board/executive committee of Open Studio (arts organization located in Toronto). Currently working as a controller for a publicly listed natural resource company, overseeing financial statement preparation, as well as, other regulatory reporting. Extensive experience working with boards of directors.
KAREN TRZASKA (Secretary) ‐ A municipal lawyer and has a master’s degree in social urban planning. As a Lawyer, Karen has experience working with and advising Boards of Directors and her experience in social planning has focused on housing and human service provision in urban settings. Karen has volunteered with several organizations that aim to improve the provision of health and wellness programs to moms and babies in the GTA. As a parent of three young children, Karen is an enthusiastic advocate for the development and implementation of strong, community based, health programs and services that serve to improve the well‐ being of our communities and residents. Karen has benefited from many of the programs provided for children at the Stonegate Community Health Centre and she looks forward to giving back to the community by contributing to the Board of Directors.
ALLISON TRENHOLM ‐ Vice President, Public Affairs, Stakeholder Relations and Chief Communications Officer at Mackenzie Health. She provides leadership on all aspects of internal and external communications across Mackenzie Health and its Foundation including brand, crisis and issues management; government, stakeholder and media relations; corporate communications, social media and integrated marketing. She has also held senior positions at Trillium Health Partners Foundation. Allison holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, Faculty of Information and Media Studies, and a Certificate in Writing from the University of Western Ontario. She is certified in change management.
