Good Food Market
Stonegate CHC's Good Food Market runs on Thursdays from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. The Good Food Market is a small fresh produce stand where anyone can come to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at an affordale price. Find us indoors during the fall and winter months, and during the summer months outdoors infront of 10 Neighbourhood Lane. When raining, the Market will be indoors for shelter in the lobby of the building. *Cash & Debit are accepted*
Community Garden
Stonegate CHC coordinates the community garden at Bell Manor Park. Gardeners keep their plots from year to year, but vacancies do come up.
If you are interested in obtaining a plot in the Bell Manor Community Garden, please contact Julia to get your name on the waiting list as spaces are limited.
ESS Support Services Shopping Trips
Stonegate CHC partners with ESS Support Services to run a shuttle bus, for seniors and those with disability and mobility issues, for grocery shopping. The bus runs bi-weekly on Thursday mornings to take participants to No Frills located at Queensway and Royal York. The designated bus picks participants up, and returns them to their home. For more information and to fill out the necessary forms, please call Stonegate CHC staff Sonia at 416.231.7070 ext. 239.

Food Program Workshops
Cooking Club: Hands-on Workshops to Empower Your Health
As part of our community health programming, our dietitian also facilitates Cooking Club, a fun, hands-on workshop held twice a month. These interactive cooking sessions are designed to help you build practical cooking skills, discover new recipes, and learn how to prepare nutritious meals that support our health.
What to Expect at Cooking Club:
- Hands-on Cooking: you will get the opportunity to prepare delicious, nutrient-dense meals alongside the dietitian and other participants. The focus is on simple, affordable and accessible ingredients that can be easily incorporated into your daily routine.
- Nutrition Education: While cooking, our dietitian will share valuable nutrition tips, explain the health benefits of various foods, and provide insight into making balanced meals choices that support chronic disease management and overall well being.
- Health-Focused Recipes: Each month features a different theme or focus. The sessions often feature cultural foods, homemade versions of popular take out foods, and nutritious versions of classic comfort foods. You will walk away with new recipes to try at home and the confidence to prepare them yourself.
- Community Connection: Cooking Club aims to provide a supportive, inclusive environment where you can connect with others in your community who share similar health and wellness interests. It’s a great way to meet new people, share tips, and be motivated to make a healthier choices together.
- Schedule: The sessions usually take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month and both of these sessions feature the same content, same recipe and messages. So if you miss the first one, you can always register for the second session. The registration fills up quickly so check our calendar towards the end of each month to see what’s coming next.
- No Experience Necessary: Cooking Club is open to all, and no prior cooking experience is necessary.
