The Good Food Market is a small fresh produce stand where anyone can come to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at an affordale price. Find us indoors during the fall and winter months, and during the summer months outdoors infront of 10 Neighbourhood Lane. When raining, the Market will be indoors for shelter in the lobby of the building. *Cash & Debit are accepted*
Community Garden
Stonegate CHC coordinates the community garden at Bell Manor Park. Gardeners keep their plots from year to year, but vacancies do come up.

FoodFit Program
Better health, one step at a time
Since April 2019, Stonegate CHC's Dietitian has been running the FoodFit program. FoodFit is a free cooking program available to people of all ability levels. It is focused on building nutritional literacy and promoting healthy habits, while helping balance one's diet with tasty, affordable recipes. We work on increasing physical activity levels by focusing on daily walking as a form of easy and cost-free exercise.
FoodFit is a 12-week program, meeting once weekly to engage in a short discussion with light snacks, a bit of light physical activity that usually involves a short walk, and most important cooking a shared meal from scratch using fresh ingredients. A typical workshop lasts 3 hours, the bulk of which is spent in the cooking class (and eating!) portion.
Benefits:
- Learn how to cook a variety of cuisine styles using healthy recipes. Participants also receive a free cookbook.
- Learn the benefits of regular physical activity, with a focus on walking as a way to stay fit. Participants also receive a free pedometer.
- Learn about nutrition and health in general through weekly discussions on certain topics.
Cost: Free
Length: 12 weeks

ESS Support Services Shopping Trips
Stonegate CHC partners with ESS Support Services to run a shuttle bus, for seniors and those with disability and mobility issues, for grocery shopping. The bus runs bi-weekly on Thursday mornings to take participants to No Frills located at Queensway and Royal York. The designated bus picks participants up, and returns them to their home. For more information and to fill out the necessary forms, please call Stonegate CHC staff Sonia at 416.231.7070 ext. 239.
To learn more about past shopping trips, please listen to the story of the grocery bus or read this article to learn more about it.
Food Program Workshops
Throughout the year, we host a number of workshops around healthy eating and gardening. Community members are welcome to attend our garden workshops during the summer growing season facilitated by gardening experts. Workshops offer hands-on information sessions to help improve green thumb capabilities.
In the fall and winter months, our educational workshops turn to the kitchen, where individuals participate in healthy cooking demonstrations provided by our Registered Dietitian. In these sessions, participants learn new recipes and tips to help make fast, healthy and affordable meals.
