Martial Arts Rocks
Stonegate has been awarded a grant from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities to support our Martial Arts Rocks programming.
When we first began to offer the Martial Arts Rock program in October 2015 we could not have imagined the interest and enthusiasm of children attending. Our Martial Arts Rocks programs keeps growing and growing! We started the program with 10 children attending on a weekly basis and now have 36 registered. The program Grandmaster Orly, holds 12 degree Black Belt in Karate, Bruce Lee's Marital Arts, Filipino Martial Arts, Kickboxing, Kendo-Fencing, Samurai, and Ninjitsu.
The children training with Grandmaster Orly have gained new skills and have advanced from white belts to achieving black belts in martial arts. The program has been very successful and would not have been possible without the donation of community members. The Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities grant of $10,860 will help support the program for the upcoming fiscal year and purchase new equipment to enhance the program.
139 children participated in Martial Arts from October 2015 to March 2019.
